WILD WEEKEND 'Cosmetic Couple / Black And White' (7")

Munster Records presents the first recordings and releases of this young all-girl tribute band to The Zeros. Wild Weekend carry the torch of the best L.A. Punk Rock tradition: Bomp and Dangerhouse Records, The Runnaways, Nikki & The Corvettes, and of course the once known as the mexican-american Ramones, the mighty Zeros (of Robert "El Vez" Lopez, Javier Escovedo; Hector Penalosa, and Baba Chenelle). These are the band's first releases, get 'em both!

Wild Weekend formed in May 2007 as an all-girl tribute to San Diego punk innovators, the Zeros. Since then, they have been playing all around Los Angeles and San Diego, constantly expanding their fan base. Since the Zeros had not performed in the US for the past 10 years, the girls put it on themselves to bring the catchy Zeros songs back to southern California’s club scene. Practicing in a tiny bedroom near Chula Vista, California (where the Zeros were originally from), they eagerly learned all their favourite Zeros songs: Beat your Heart out, Don’t Push me Around, Cosmetic Couple, Getting Nowhere fast, of course Wild Weekend, to name a few. The girls made friends with the original Zeros  members, primarily Hector Peñalosa and Robert Lopez who have been attending their concerts and also helping with booking shows and recording their songs…Wild Weekend had their first show in San Diego back in July 07 with a great turnout. Since then Wild Weekend has played with original 70’s Punk Rock legends like the Plugz, Skulls, Eyes, Deadbeats, the Gears, the Controllers, etc. Their biggest highlight was a sold out show for the Masque 30 year anniversary reunion in Los Angeles.  Most recently, with a new line up, the band started writing original songs and added them to their existing Zeros set. Inspired by 60's pop, rock n roll and punk, slowly straying away from their former "tribute band" status.
