União Black was one of the main groups from Brazil’s Black Rio Movement of the late 70s, a real life thirteen musician super band that, in those days, packed clubs and stadiums. Their most recognizable influences were James Brown, Ohio Players and Mandrill seasoned inevitably by Brazilian flavor and Portuguese lyrics. Their original 1977 LP is currently a very sought after album, fetching quite a high price in the collector’s market. |
