SAFETY PINS 'Punkassbitch' (LP)
   Add to basketBasketAdd to favorites

The third album in their OFFICIAL discography after "Steel Knives and Razor Blades" and "Powergenerator", all on Munster Records. Changes in the band’s line-up, but the same "steamrolling effect". The Safety Pins have always been fast and loud, but here they are FASTER AND FUCKING LOUDER! RAGE is also here, and ATTITUDE, and all the influences that make them great. PUNKASSBITCH has 17 songs, but the total running time is only 30 minutes...

PUNKASSBITCH was recorded at Chockablock Studios (Mikel´s own) like so many good Spanish records of the last years (AEROBITCH, SIN CITY SIX, etc.), but the EXTRA INGREDIENT this time is no less than DANIEL REY taking care of the production (this fab NYC producer is responsible for records of the Ramones, Dictators, Misfits, etc.!!). Put altogether and what you get is their best record to date, PUNKASSBITCH, The Safety Pins... BEWARE!.

SINIESTRO TOTAL 'El Regreso' (LP) (180 Gr)
   Add to basketBasketAdd to favorites

After the big bang of this first album, they record two songs for a National TV Show which get censored. Afterwards it would come their most acclaimed single, “Sexo Chungo/Me Pica un huevo” (also reissued by Munster on vinyl). Siniestro come back in 1983 with the aptly titled “Siniestro Total II: El Regreso”: a hilarious exercise of perverse punk where hardcore rythms, diverse machine sounds, bubbling pop and coral attempts of dubious taste collide, and where we find new anthems such as “Más vale ser punkie que maricón de playa” (“It's better to be a punk than a beach fag”) or “Opera tu fimosis” (“Have a phimosis operation”, after a Rezillos original). This album is recorded as a trio since German Coppini has left the band, but the style remains the same: scatological and genital references abound, making such a Spanish rock illuminati as Miguel Rios cry in the press for the state of music (“Where has Spanish rock gone to when one can sing things such as “I've got an itching in my ball”?”). Excellent, epic lyrics follow, such as “Al que eyacula Dios le ayuda” (“God helps him who eyaculates”). Produced much better than the first album, this album marks the end of pure punk for Siniestro Total.

SINIESTRO TOTAL '¿Cuando Se Come Aqui?' (LP) (180 Gr)

“¿Cuándo se come aquí?” (“When do you eat here?”), originaly released in 1982 by DRO, is widely recognised today as a milestone in Spanish punk history, and the big bang moment in Galician rock. Before this album there was nothing, and to break with nothingness Galician punk arrived. German Coppini, Julian Hernandez, Miguel Costas and Alberto Torrado, after the mythical first EP “Ayudando a los enfermos” (“Helping the Sick”, recently reissued by Munster), shocked and terrorized a whole nation by way of much celebrated hymns: 15 songs recorded in 3 days, a bare half an hour of stomach ache for delicate spirits. Siniestro Total dared to say what no one said in a rough punk exercise that looks out for the Damned, Ramones or Buzzcocks in absolute anthems such as “Hoy voy a asesinarte” (“Today I'm gonna murder you”, after a Petula Clark original), “Las tetas de mi novia” (“My girlfriend's boobs”, originally by Gruppo Sportivo), “Todos los ahorcados mueren empalmados (“All the hanged die with a hard-on”), “Chochos Voladores” (“Flying Cunts”) or “Los esqueletos no tienen pilila” (“Skeletons don't have weenies”), songs with a raw guitar sound who are still being sung by thousands. These songs made the album a quick success in “alternative” charts, and very soon the album had sold well over 2000 copies. A total classic.

SONNY VINCENT / STEVIE & THE SECRETS 'Split' (LP) (10")
   Add to basketBasketAdd to favorites

Each band on one side of a 10" slice of vinyl. First, NYC Punk pioneer SONNY VINCENT, this time playing with 3 members of Safety Pins: AIKY (guitar), MARTINI (bass) and GUANCHE (drums), PLUS MIKE SOBIESKI (lead guitar), from The Sin City Six (ex- Pleasure Fuckers). After a succesful European tour, where SONNY used The Safety Pins as his backing band, they recorded at Rock Palace (Madrid)... The songs featured here cannot be found ANYWHERE ELSE.

On the other side you can find STEVIE & THE SECRETS. STEVIE is no other than EX-DEVIL DOG STEVE BAISE, and with his SECRETS he delivers a super-rocking blend of Punk-Rock and Rock & Roll (not too different from what The Devil Dogs were famous for), but maybe with a harder edge. Here you can hear STEVE BAISE and his band performing the Punk anthem “Good Head”, later recorded by Turbonegro. Funny, what many consider one of Turbonegro’s best tunes, was in fact written by crazy STEVE BAISE!A beautifully presented 10”, filled up with 100% RAWK ‘N’ FUCKIN’ ROLL!!!

SUICIDE KING 'New York (She's Dead)' (LP)
   Add to basketBasketAdd to favorites

NYC's most hardest rockin’ combo is a quartet formed by irreductible punk rockers, led by frantic singer  4-Way (ex-Bad Posture), bass player Nick Marden from NY legends The Stimulators; Shige (ex-HipNips) on guitar and Chip English (ex-Lunachicks) on drums. Suicide King first smashed the scene in 1994 and after years of touring their sound now strikes harder than ever! “Provocative, dirty, raw disgusting PUNK!”, as some critic said, is exactly what this is. This second album showcases the wreckless world they live in... Put Motorhead and Dead Boys in a cocktail shaker, mix it properly and add some Johnny Thunders; the crazy result would be... SUICIDE KING!

SWELL MAPS 'A Trip To Marineville' (2xLP 180 Gr + 7")
   Add to basketBasketAdd to favorites

When the Swell Maps released “A Trip To Marineville” in 1979, they had already been playing together for seven years: you can guess they had some clear ideas of what they were doing. A crazy quilt of punk energy and Krautrock-influenced clatter, this album has been described as “A CULTURAL ARTIFACT TO CHERISH FOREVER. See it, buy it, that’s all that really needs to be said”. A breathless child tells you “Say! THAT’S a swell map...” then Epic sweeps his hand from right to left along the piano, and a reckless musical voyage explodes. Every song in this album is a different, equally interesting trip, but we can highlight the gigantic “Vertical Slum” and his Bolan-esque lyrics ending in the massed chant “The Weather! The Leather!”, “Spitfire Parade” (“Having nothing isn’t much of a pose”), the extremely beautiful piano of “Don’t Throw Ashtrays at me”, the Maps classic “Midget Submarine”! with its killer dual guitar riff over a driving relentless beat and a sublime Sudden vocal (not only one of the best lyricists of his age but a unique singer too), a gradual descent from superb punk rock into total experimentation all in the course of one track. Also stands gloriously “Full Moon In My Pocket”, with Nikki screeching, gibbering and growling his way to the mantra “I got a full moon in my port sight / I got a full moon in my tail light” until an improptu coughing session occurs as part of the performance, the incendiary “BLAM!”, the orgy of insanity, tension and mystery called “Gunboats”, and the end with the equally experimental “Adventuring Into Basketry” and the precious “My Little Shoppes Just Around the Corner”... In one sentence, ¡Each song is a highlight! For this is, no doubt, one of the greatest records ever made. Great sleeve, great lyrics, great songs, a total D.I.Y. attitude, experimentation -but far more than just that. Oh, this precious thing has also been called “One of the definitive musical statements of the Twentieth Century”. Now just hear it.

SWELL MAPS 'Jane From Occupied Europe' (2xLP 180 Gr)
   Add to basketBasketAdd to favorites

As for “Jane From Occupied Europe” (1980), some claim this album to be even stronger than their debut. Sudden’s more conventional rock songs are again succesful and the instrumentals veer more towards free-form jazz but with discipline. One of its strongest tracks is the instrumental “Collision With a Frogman Vs The Mangrove Delta Plan”. This album would prove their final studio effort before breaking up after an italian tour.
