SOUR
JAZZ first get started when guitar hero Mr. Ratboy said to Lou
Paris neither of them wanted to be in a band, so they probably should
be in a band together!! Originally they tried to do something a
bit different than they had ever done before, wrote a few tunes
and looked at each other and said, "This is the same stuff we've
always done before, but it's good!" Then they realized it sounded
like Iggy's New Values, wich wasn't bad for them since they each
consider that one of their all-time favourite records!
Cowboy
Mark knew Rat from around the neighborhood, and sort of worked on
an album together previously. They recognized each other to be kindred
spirits in not only their tastes in music but, more importantly,
our kindred hatred for most music out there.
When he joined SOUR JAZZ it was as a second guitar player.
Bass player at the time was Sam Yaffa of HANOI ROCKS. Splat was
the last to join, and after Sam was out of the picture, they just
figured out Mark would switch to bass. The chemistry between the
four of them was perfect in their minds, so they didn't want to
blow it by adding a fifth in the say of how they went about things.
In the space of a few years they seem to have grown into a functional
family. After its critically acclaimed debut "No Values" (1999)
SOUR JAZZ has completed the follow-up "Lost For Life", the new SOUR
JAZZ album out on July 2001, and out in September 2001, only
on MUNSTER RECORDS, this awsome15-track compilation of the best
of SOUR JAZZ, plus two exclusive tracks. A limited edition that
will be available containing a bonus video for "That's Cool" for
you to whack into your computer.
