Munster Records is proud to release the new album by MERMAID, one of the toughest and more proffesional ROCK (capital letters please!) bands in Spain. They are no newcomers, they have already proved who they are and with this new record Munster will try to make them known in all Europe. We believe they deserve it. Their first album was the self-released "From Here to Nowhere", which surprised everyone. Then the follow up "High Dimension is the Direction" was released by Safety Pin Records in 2000 and was voted second best album of 2000 in Spain. With it they were considered the most promising band in the country, and they started playing big festivals and opening the spanish shows of bands like QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, ZEN GUERRILLA, GLUECIFER, MAN OR ASTROMAN?, etc. And now here it is, their third album "RED LED OR DEATH", their best to date, with shorter songs with a hard-rock flavour, without forgetting their ROLLING STONES, LED ZEPPELIN, DEEP PURPLE, JIMI HENDRIX, or BLACK SABBATH, etc. influences. They are not your tipical STONER band. They mix the density of the heavy guitars and slow-mid tempos with some faster beats which will appeal both the KYUSS, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, FU MANCHU, the punkier side of the Scandinavian hordes of HELLACOPTERS; MARYSLIM, TURBONEGRO and GLUECIFER, and the heavier riffs of the classic hard rock pioneers BLUE CHEER and such.
