Recently described
as "a 3-way incandescent bulb under a glass mosaic shade"
and "the hottest UK trio since the closing of Middle Earth",
The Embrooks have been colouring the airwaves with
their blend of Mod, Psych and Freakbeat for some 6 years hence.
With the invaluable assistance of Messrs Gibson, Ludwig and Marshall,
these 3 paisley-d poofs are making a name for themselves as purveyors
of the highest quality British music on the scene today. The Embrooks
have a nice discography previous to this album: two LPs and a bunch
of singles an EPs in labels such as Sympathy For The Record Industry,
Voxx and Dyonisus). And now they are ripe as the best fruit for
you!
Consisting of: Lois - their own Mrs. Moon, combining
the innate skills of the Duracell Bunny with Quentin Crisp's wardrobe
(all behind a lovely silver 7-piece kit); Dr. Al - the Guitar Hero
personified, utilising skills honed at the Townshend School of Guitaring
(not to mention the dexterity of Les Dawson, RIP); and Mole - Bassmeister,
currently firm favourite for the Amos Breirley Ridiculous Sidies
Award; short, flatulent, profane, nice shirts.
4 years after “Our New Day”, The Embrooks
are ready to unleash their 3rd long-player, onto a world edgy with
anticipation!! Utilising the dazzling expertise at the hands of
Liam Watson, and the now world-famous Toe Rag Studio, this beast
is gonna remove your wig and leave your ears simultaneously begging
for mercy and gagging for more!
"Plain and simple, the Embrooks have it in
spades! From Lois' tremendous snare fills and cymbal smashes to
Al's short sharp lead shocks and Mole's harmonious double pumping
bass this is THE real Freakbeat deal. Every lame 2nd class garage
(read punk) act is gonna be claiming "freakbeat" as their
"sound" this year so be warned! Start here and you won't
be fooled by the pretenders!" - Colin Bryce, Mohair Sweets
"The Embrooks have a strong Rubble feel - thanks to Liam Watson
the sound is pure '67! So authentic it could fool Phil Smee!! Sod
the Hives & White Stripes - go for The Embrooks!" - John
'Mojo' Mills
"The Time Was Wrong - good, multi-part harmony
psychedelic ballad - gorgeous phasing and wild acid guitar solo;
spacey vocal stuff! It's a Toe Rag production so you know what to
expect!" - Parsley Lion, Art Rocker.
THE EMBROOKS are happening - wontcha join them?
