THE BIG CAT HAS DIED |
Rolando Carpio, leader, writer and guitar player of Los Saicos, died in Lima, Peru, on January the 24th 2005. For many young people in our generation, who decided to grow up with rock'n'roll by the mid and late 80s, the music of Los Saicos was known through some Subterranean (punk) bands who made covers of their anthem "Demolición" and turned it into an affirmation of Anarchy and Revolution. |

NIKKI SUDDEN - ROCK AND ROLL DANDY |
Nikki Sudden: a rooster/shag-haired rock 'n' roll dandy, equal parts Marc Bolan, Ronnie Wood, and Johnny Thunders; co-founder (with late sibling Epic Soundtracks) of '70s avant-punks Swell Maps; a member of the debauched Kevn Kinney/Pete Buck "rolling asunder revue"; and a much-loved folk/glam/rock troubadour, both solo and with the Jacobites... |
 |
NO MORE WORDS: BACKBONE RITMO |
Atom Rhumba have made it! The "most promising band" label with which so many media have tagged the Basque band, picturing them as "one of the best bands in Spain" ever since the times of Hormonal Riot (1997)- all of that is obsolete with this album. Atom Rhumba are not "promising" anymore. They are the raw, palpitating and infectious reality. Backbone Ritmo is the proof that they have overcome... |

THE ROOTS OF SPACEMEN 3 COMPILED BY SONIC BOOM |
Stooges? Velvets? Stones? Close and compared to any of these bands (their favourites included also Cramps, MC5 and Suicide), Spacemen 3 were one of the most revolutionary UK guitar bands, whose influence is still being felt today -and whose reputation as one of the leading innovators of the alternative scene keeps growing.

BARRACUDAS ¡SURFERS ARE BACK! |
| They
were not one of the most popular bands of 70’s punk, but they
shared stages and friendship with Stiv Bators and many other punkheads.
Their career was limited to just one album, but ended as a cult object
for fans of real punk rock. Now, twenty-two years after, they have
loaded their batteries again and have recorded a second album –
and it’s a real blast! |

THE
LEGENDARY TIGER MAN!!! - Interview |
| After
years of suffering under the doctrine preached by birds of ill-omen
that blues was dead, it seems as though some sharpshooters have joined
forces to rescue it from ostracism. Among all of them The
Legendary Tigerman stands out, a portuguese musician born
Paulo Furtado and ex component of prestigious Lusitanian acts such
as the Tedio Boys. |

LOS
PERROS POR LOS USA!!! - Interview |
LOS
PERROS are back, surprisingly safe and sound after their
USA tour. So this is the best chance to make them
tell us everything about that experience and ask them how did they
manage to avoid Bush’s Immigration Laws...

| Frank
Meyer, fortunate L.A. resident and member of the amazing STREETWALKIN’
CHEETAHS –who will play Serie Z festival in Spain this
August- payed honour to his condition as an irredent STOOGES
fan –read his band’s name again- and rushed to the COACHELLA
festival –a weekend in the desert near to Plam Springs,
California- armed with a camera. Frank was just able to make this
comment: “Saw the Stooges last night!!! Incredible! Played most
of the first two albums, all the hits! Joined by Funhouse sax played
Steven MacCay too!!! Wow!!!” What else can be said? |

Sonny
Vincent is back with what is probably the best album in
his long solo career: "The Good, The Bad & The

him surrounded by living legends such as the Asheton brothers, Captain
Sensible and more of his youth heroes. But this time, Munster has
rolled out the red carpet ... |

Osama Bin Laden to dance!!! |

MERMAID
RED LED OR DEATH!! |
Mermaid
have been proving for some years that they are the best
Hard Rock band of Spain, second to no one in the world.
But some idiots pointed that those long instrumental passages of
psych tendences were too dense. To close those mouths, this lisergic
freaks have recorded this fantastic album: “Red Led
Or Death”, a set of perfect songs... |

LOS
PERROS. Live At Star Club. LP 10" |
Not
a live record !!!!!!!!!! Stupid people at Munster trying to confuse
distributors and buyers... This new PERROS album has been in
fact recorded at the infamous TOE-RAG studios, home of the
best European Garage-Punk of the last 20 years, and produced by
LIAM WATSON. A little less muddy sounding than their previous
albums, so you can actually hear each instrument separately instead
of being crushed by their overwhelming sonic wall. |

in Spain we called "after-punk" or "siniestro". Influences like

VINCENT & FRIENDS: THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY. CD/LP
At
last! The incredible brand new adventure by NYC punkrock veteran
SONNY VINCENT and friends!! An we do mean FRIENDS,
because this time Sonny, a tireless punk pioneer from the CBGBs
glory days, has called up some of his best mates, who also happen
to be first-class Punk/Rock’n’Roll heroes, such as CAPTAIN
SENSIBLE from The Damned, SCOTT ASHETON from The Stooges, WAYNE
KRAMER from The MC5, WALTER LURE from Johnny Thunders´ Heartbreakers...
(to name but a few). Yeah! The kind of stars Rock’n’Roll
History is written by! |

Records is proud to release the new album by MERMAID,
one of the toughest and more proffesional ROCK (capital letters
please!) bands in Spain. They are no newcomers, they have already
proved who they are and with this new record Munster will try to
make them known in all Europe. We believe they deserve it. |
| LOS
MOCKERS. Complete Recordings. LP 220 gram / CD The
ULTIMATE collection of this amazing white R&B band everybody
should adore. Mastered from the original tapes and containing every
track recorded by the Uruguayan "Stones"... even a rare 7" ("Captain
Grey") the band members didn´t remeber existed (probably because
it meant the beggining of their psychedelic experiences!). ATTENTION...
This is not an obscure 3rd Divison mediocre garage band copying
what they saw in England or the States!!! |
| THE
LEGENDARY TIGERMAN – NAKED BLUES. Video Enhanced CD/10"
“The
music contained in Naked Blues exhudes heat, humidity,
the suffocating, maddening sensuality of the delta. It’s the
perfect vehicle for the strongly sexual universe depicted in the
lyrics. The rythm, the stops, the shaking achieved by the mix of
the instruments, the tone and inflexions of Paulo Furtado’s
voice; depict in technicolor the provocative situations he sings
about. And everything in Naked Blues revolts around sex: burning,
desperate, one-night-only.” - Raquel M. Pinheiro |
| THE
FAST.The Complete Recordings 1976-1984 LP (220 GR) /CD
There
is an often overlooked "gray era" between the Glam movement of the
early to mid seventies, and Punk's sociological upheaval. THE FAST
started as early as '72, fronted by FAST mastermind Miki
Zone, and his brother Armand (Mandy to his buddies) Zone. Early
rare cuts sound influenced by Bowie, and The Who, but the roughness
of unbridled teen-angst give the songs a flavor more appropriately
described as maximum rock and roll. Early gigs were played in lofts,
and rented spaces, in a scene inhabited by the likes of NY Dolls,
and Wayne/Jayne County. |
|
GUITAR WOLF.Ufo Romantics.LP/CD
GUITAR
WOLF is one of the original garage punk rock bands to emerge
from Japan. The trio -which consists of guitarist Seiji, bassist
Billy and drummer Toru- formed in 1987 along with groups like 5.6.7.8's,
Teengenerate, and Mad 3. They strongly believe that the essence
of their style originates from the pure fundamentals of rock'n'roll.
It is quite evident when you see Guitar Wolf's 50's Rock'n'Roll
appearances.Their shows are always loud, chaotic, but at the same
time humorous and always unpredictable... |
| THE
STEAMPACKET. The First Supergroup. LP 10"
The
recordings here were made in a couple of hours as a demo- tape in
order to take them to the USA in the hope of organising a college-tour
for them. Like much of the material contained in this series. It
has no pretension to being 'polished' studio-work, or 'inspired'
performance. But its very uniqueness - there were no other recordings
ever made of this group - warrants its presentation. -- Giorgio
Gomelsky. (PRODUCER) |
| THE
AMERICAN FOUR / RONNIE & THE POMONA CASUALS. Featuring Athur Lee.
SN 7"
When
ARTHUR LEE and BRYAN MACLEAN first met in the summer
of 1965 in the parking lot at Ben Frank's coffee shop, then the
epicentre of all that was moving and shaking on Sunset Strip - LOVE
had already been going for several months. Except that they weren't
called LOVE, they were called THE GRASS ROOTS, and they had evolved
out of two bands - The LAGs and THE AMERICAN FOUR - that
LEE had led before seeing the folk-rock light at an early Byrds
show. |
