The 70s were a decade of transcendental changes in Spain, mainly the death of dictator Franco in 1975, the arrival of democracy, and the economical crisis. This is when BURNING are born, in Madrid´s working class neighbourhood of La Elipa. An explosive Rock band gathering the best essences of American and British Rock & Roll (Rolling Stones, Lou Reed, Alice Cooper, etc) which had a tremendous impact on Spain´s Rock scene.

Teddy Bautista from Los Canarios recommend BURNING to the newly born label GONG, and the label sign them immediately. BURNING have a fantastic live show but somehow their success does not extend to their first recordings. So, they change labels and sing for BELTER, start singing in Spanish, and finally they cause a big impact on Spanish urban rock scene. Between 1978 and 1984 BURNING release five extremely successful albums, with widespread critic and public recognition. The only shadow being a series of personal tragedies. An amazing success, with a few hits that marked many people´s live in the difficult years of the late seventies.

The record we proudly release now, "1974-1975: The years that we started living dangerously", compiles BURNING´s first recordings: their two first singles for Gong Records. Songs that captured the spirit of an era and of a city. BURNING were the soundtrack to that era.
